Barnacles are the only sessile crustaceans in existence. They are attached to rocks, corals, and other solid objects. Some attach themselves to ships or plants or even large fish. Their bodies are made up of a shell of calcium carbonate. They have both female and male reproductive systems. They filter in food (usually detritus) from the water to feed.
