Sharks are the top predators of the ocean's food chain. All sharks are carnivorous. Sharks have streamlined bodies and are excellent swimmers. They use their muscles to swim with powerful sideways sweeps of their tail. Sharks have a mouth filled with multiple rows of teeth. Their teeth are constantly replaced, either individually or by entire rows. Teeth move forward after they have been lost. Sharks are present all over the ocean, especially in temperate, tropical waters of less than 2,000 meters in depth.
