Tapeworms are parasitic flatworms. They will usually inhabit the digestive systems of vertebrates. Humans are prone to tapeworm infections when consuming under-cooked pork, beef, and fish. Tapeworms have the ability to grow up to 20 meters in length. They have a scolex, a head that attaches itself to the intestine of a vertebrate/human. The tapeworm then feeds off of the food that goes through the intestines, not allowing the host to ingest it fully. To get rid of a tapeworm, you must take medications by mouth. This will kill the tapeworm and allow it's host to pass it successfully.
